In addition to the due care security measures our Internet Banking service applies; you have a critical role to play in protecting the privacy of your account information and safeguarding your money.

There are certain precautions you should take to prevent any third party from accessing your valuable and confidential information.

Protect your Password and Personal Information:
  • Password must be between 8 to 15 characters and includes/contains at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 special character, and 1 numeric character.
  • Do not use passwords that are easy to guess, e.g. your name, your date of birth, your telephone number(s), Egyptian ID number, passport numbers, etc.
  • Do not share your password with anyone and do not use the same password for other websites.
  • Change your password frequently and never write it down.
  • Always log into Internet Banking via our website at the following addresses: www.eg-bank.comand click on Internet Banking tab or go directly to www.myEGBANK.com and not through other links.
  • Use a trusted device to logon to your internet banking account.
  • Never use computers located in public places such as Internet cafes or airport lounges for online banking.
  • Avoid logging into Internet Banking from free public Wi-Fi services or untrusted networks (e.g. cafes, restaurants, malls, etc…)
  • Always close the window once you have logged out of your Internet Banking session.
  • Staff at EGBANK will never ever ask you for your Internet Banking password. If someone does ask you for it, they do not represent the Bank and you should not under any circumstance provide this information.
  • Never send your bank account or personal information via email message because it’s not considered as a secure channel.
  • Ensure checking your last time visit when you log into your Personal Internet Banking account. Check Last Time
Protect yourself and your computer:
  • Never share your computer.
  • Ensure your internet browser is updated with the latest security patches.
  • Keep your PC/Laptop operating system updated with the latest service packs and security patches.
  • Use a password on your PC to prevent unauthorized access to your information.
  • Be wary of opening email messages from untrustworthy sources, especially if they contain attachments.
  • Do not reply to emails that request your personal information. They may appear to come from a trusted friend or business, but they are designed to trick you in disclosing sensitive personal information.
  • Use personal firewalls, anti-virus and anti-malware software.
  • Avoid downloading software such as screen savers, desktop themes, games, and other executable type programs from websites that are obscure or unidentifiable. These programs may contain Trojan viruses that would enable hackers to monitor or take over your device (e.g. PC, Smartphone, Tablet, etc…)
  • Do not visit suspicious sites. If you suspect that a website is not what it purports to be, leave the site immediately. Do not follow any of the instructions it presents.
  • Monitor your transactions. Review your transfers’ confirmation, Credit Card and Bank Statements as soon as you receive them to make sure you are being charged only for transactions that have taken place. Immediately report any irregularities to EGBANK.
  • Disable all unnecessary services running on your computer.
  • Always verify that the site is the genuine EGBANK Internet Banking website by checking for the green padlock icon EGbank URL or in some browsers the URL bar will turn green EGbank URL when you type the Internet Banking URL.
  • Do not leave your Internet Banking session unattended at any time.
  • Before you start your Internet Banking session, ensure that all other internet sessions are closed.
